Would love some help on this problem. Every time i go to press on the gas the engine dies. I been trying to figure this out now for about 6 months. Its a 97 engine in a 93 body. It has a MAS, but i been reading some forums that says that the 93 dosent have a MAS so would that effect anything. I Bought this car with the engine put in already. Please help. Would love to get her running again.

 

MAS? As in Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF)? Just want to be on the same page.

If it has a MAF and is OBD 1 then it probably has a 94 or 95 PCM. 93 cars didn't come with a MAF and only used speed density VE tables.

What all have you done to it?

 

Not going to say 100% but i had a similar condition and it was the fuel pump..
put a pressure guage on it and see where it is...
