LT1 Cooling Fans

I have a 1996 Z28-SS 6-speed. I was in the process of installing a manual fan switch and I have realized that the fan on the drivers side would not work in low or high speed. If i cut the ac on both fans come on. I have tested all three relays and have tested the wiring from the relay to that fan. I was wondering if some one could tell me which fan is supposed to come on at which temperature and which fan or fans come on with the ac.

And if someone could tell me where the cooling fan relay controls are at.

Thanks for that info shoebox. You wouldn't happen to know where the relay control is for both the 1st relay and the one for the 2nd and 3rd relay. I am pretty sure that the fans are not working properly on their own with the exception of using the ac to turn them on.

The computer is the "relay control".

ow well that makes since, thanks. and i have got another problem on the manual fan switch i bought on the green wire where the led wire and the wire to the switch connect was getting hot and burning the heat shrink. i thought there might be a short so i took off the heat shrink and found a resistor either a 47 or a 41 ohm ( i could not tell if the second band was violet or brown) and it was comming from the green wire. that is what is actually getting hot and there is not a short like i originally thought. i can tell that there is resistors at the leds but i do not know what this resistor is for

Maybe there is a problem with the wiring.

The computer controls the fans in all situations.

I HAVE JUST FIGURED IT OUT!!!! I saw on this forum about just grounding the wire to see if the fans work well i did that with the car running and i heard a snap and the car cut off. the ignition fuse was blown so i looked at the plug in the stupid kit and he had taped into G instead of J at the C100 plug. I was on my way back to work but now i am stranded, luckley a friend lives near by and can take me to autozone for some fuses.
