LT1 Cat-Back advice needed!

Hey I need some opinions here. I am getting ready to buy a cat-back exhaust kit for my 96Z. Should I buy Hooker, Flowmaster, or Dynomax? (Those are the 3 I'm looking at) I don't think the Dynomax would be any better than stock though, as far as sound. What is your opinion?

of the 3.. hooker. sounds good. I hate flowmasters sound but thats me. Plus everyone and there brother has flowmaster. I have no info on the dynomax. the one thing to think about is I am not sure if the hooker is stainless or not. you might wanna think about that

I don't believe the hooker is stainless. If you are just going for sound instead of performance tehn don't get the dynomax, it is a quiet system which is a benifit to some people. Personally if I could go back (I have Loudmouth) I would buy the Corsa.

Definitely consider a stainless system. I had to replace my aluminized one after 3 years. The magnaflow I got wound up costing about the same, but obviously won't have the same rust issues. Why buy twice?

It's not the loudest, but it does sound good. At idle it's got a great rumble with this cam & headers. Some rpm's and it's got a very nice roar with no popping on decel. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again given the choice.

I just put on the Hooker...
Slightly louder than stock idling.
Quiet at cruising speed.
Slightly loud slowly pulling from a light.
Turn heads at 1/2 throttle.
People run at full throttle.

When it was first on and I drove off at 1/4 throttle, personally, it wasn't as loud as I wanted... Of course I've only had it on a couple weeks and people say it gets louder as time goes on and I hope it does... But I didn't initially think, DAMN that sounds good... However, I did think that after stomping the pedal... I was looking for a happy medium sound between 'not annoying the neighbors' and loud... The Hooker IS that but seems to be a little too tame at part throttle for my tastes at this point... I was "talked" out of the Flowmaster by reading all the threads against it and the praises of the Hooker... So don't let other peoples opinion of what sounds good sway what you want... Because we don't know what sounds good to you... It's impossible to give a written explaination and the sound clips don't do the exhaust 100% justice.. Besides, some of the clips have different exhaust/engine set ups, no cats, headers, cam etc. which might not even apply to what you have and give a totally different sound... The ONLY way is to hear it first hand.

2.5" true duals with H pipe and dynomax bullets and dumps. Can't beat the flow and the price, much less the sound.

magnaflow! ALL THE WAY. The exhaust note is just right at idle and sounds great when you romp on it. Can't beat stainless durability. Very easy install if you plan on doing it yourself.

i liked it with stock manifolds and i liked it with LT's and OR pipe but now its unbareable for my daily driver

I have the Hooker and its sounds great. Don't know how long it will last. I had Flowmaster on 88 GT Mustang Hated it, magnaflow on a other did not like the sound ( just me others liked it) It was too tinny. but should last along time
