alrighty so ive built many motor before but everything i did was carbed. My buddy has a 97 LT1 that he bought used. Car has 80K on it. The other week it dropped a valve on cyl #5 so we yanked the motor apart. As we pulled it apart we found that the headgasket was seeping coolant into #7. Shortblock is still in the car and we dont really want to pull it, pistons look fine and the crosshatching is still on the cyl walls. What we want to do is change cams, add longtubes(it has SLP shorties and they keep melting heater hoses) and probally put on a set of Dart pro 1 heads. this is a street strip car. It already has a moser ford 9" we put in along with a 3,000 stall converter. Can you reprogram the computer to get rid of all the EGR and AIR stuff? What cam would you run with this setup? and also what longtube headers? Thanks
