then that was his own fault for building a ****ty motor
more displacement =
he probably just choked out his cam with stock heads or something stupid like that
it's definitely worth it if you can afford it

It is not because they would be difficult to make, but because there is no market for a new LT1 block casting.

They would never sell enough to offset the cost of R&D and production. If you are starting from scratch you might as well get an LSx or traditional gen1 block and end up with a much larger aftermarket available to you for building.

Still would be sweet to have a 454 LT1!!

Serious question?
Besides the fact a typical LT1 block can be up to 396CI before you are seriously pushing the limits. (bigger has been done, I recall a 406(8?) that was built earlier. But I dout anyone has built a 454 LT1 if its even possible.

there have been a few 427" LT1s made. I remember talk about it ages ago that one guy made 2. 1 with big bore and 1 with big stroke.

4" stroke LT1s aren't common, but they are being built.

I guess if someone wanted to spend the money they could have their block sleeved for 4.120 bore making a 400 or 414 depending on stroke?? 3.75 or 3.875"

Well I don't think I have money coming out of my *** and I didn't think it was all that much considering what good aftermarket blocks go for, so...

Having it shipped directly to my engine builder. Sorry MachinestOne, you're a little to far away. After we inspect the block I'll make a final decision. However, I just purchased the parts to do a 396ci (3.875 stroke), so if I left it at 413ci all I would need are new pistons?? Decisions, decisions.

Get new pistons. Very few people will have the chance of a big LT1 motor motor. Don't short yourself.
