LT1 blues... I need some help.

So my motor was pulled out and got a refresh new bearings and stuff. I got the valve seats recut and the heads where also slightly decked. Fast forward to the re-assembly. We used a set of fel pro gaskets and they where facing up the right way. The bolts used where knock off GMs. They came with thread sealant already on them. We didnt have a torque angle meter so they where tightened to 35 then 55 and 75 ft-lbs. 75 being the standard SBC. They where tightened in the correct pattern aswel. fast forward to the initial start up. I could not get the car to start. It was determined that my opti was bad. So i put on my spare. It started and ran. Then my coolant shot out of my uncapped radiator like old faithful. Shortly there after the car died. The next day i noticed that liquid was dripping out of my mid tube headers (y pipe was off) Blown head gasket comes to mind. One more day later (today) So i pull the spark plugs and sure enough they are wet.... But it smells like fuel. Im about to hook up a compression tester and see what i get. Any input?

Just that the antifreeze might have fouled your O2 sensors, so look out for that, too.

I bet you used torque to yield bolts. 75 ftlbs is too much I think . Mine said to torque to 66. if they have a 1/2 in head, you are using TTY bolts.

Use a cooling system pressure tester to see if your cooling system has a leak. If it will not hold pressure....you have a problem.

This is the best place to start. You can sometimes see where it's leaking, if in fact you have a leak.

This can Happen??? What would the car run like if the O2 was fouled out???

Also with the car getting HOT which is apparantly how water shot out the cap. You could have had air in the system and ran it to long. I love the electric water pumps, turn them on before you start the car as your filling the rad. Works nicely for getting water where it needs to be.

Well its not the bolts and its not the gasket. Much more serious. Pics below.

Cylinder #3 as i found it once the head was removed notice the piece of metal at the bottom resting on the piston:

This is the culprit. I have no clue what it was before. It is steel. Thats all i know:

Another pic of #3 when i brought it all the way down to check the cylinder walls. They seem alright:

Heres the head. Completely destroyed.

Pic of the passenger side after the head was removed. The coolant must have made its way through the driver side intake valves through the intake manifold and then down the passenger intake valves... I noticed coolant in the intake when i took the throttle body off. Any other ideas?

Also please check out my heads thread i just posted. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=698671 Im going to post another pic of the piece of steel next to a quarter so you can get a better idea on its size. Also any ideas on what it may be would be most appreciated.
