lt1 block casting number?

lt1 block casting number?

does anyone know it? i friend of mine just bought an 81 camaro z28. the guy he bought it from claims the previous owner put an lt1 in it. i cant tell if it since its carburated and has a clutch fan. it does have aluminum heads though. if its not an lt1 i hope its a zz4. they have aluminum heads right?

An LT1 has "327" cast in all sides of the block and is easily distinguished by the cam driven, reverse flow water pump that has 6 mounting bolts.

i believe i noticed it being cam driven. i have to look though. ill count the bolts when i see the car again. so you mean "327 is stamped on it?

You can see the inverted casting here by the knock sensor. It is also on the other side of the block and on the front .
