Interesting. What all does it consist of? A little metal bracket and a modified stock bracket?

How easy is it to remove the alternator?

What size belt is needed?

Not quite. There is a $60 core charge which makes it $160 shipped after the core charge is refunded. A little better?

Not my place to judge I suppose, seems really high to me.. Almost like your trapping people into paying that high of a price if they really need taller valve covers..

looks like a really nice design though...

oh well good luck

It is the $60 core charge that makes it look more expensive than what it is upon first glance.

Trap? I wouldn't say that. That sounds sorta mean. They can always keep the factory bracket and modify their valve covers, but when you think about it it might cost the same amount to have someone modify taller valve covers and do a quality job. If they can do a good enough job of modifying their covers themselves, they can probably fab up a similar sort of bracket on their own. Not everyone has that ability...including me, I am sorry to say!

Not to mention with this you also have the benefit of easier access to checking the lash. Naturally, if someone doesn't want to pay for the high-quality piece such as this, they do not have to. It just makes things easier for those particular situations. Some will find great value to this, there has been a lot of talk about it.

Thanks. It is a decent design. And an extra special thanks for the "BWAHAHAHHAHAH!"

lol sorry man it's just that they $220 looks WAY OUTA HAND at first sight You should at least change it to $160 with a $60 core or whatever

No problem. It would be nice to do it that way, but our shopping cart software doesn't support that sort of feature. It is nice software FWIW, and it does great in most aspects. I am trying to figure out a good workaround for this problem, though.

How is this comparison...a strut tower brace is a bent tube and two metal plates and costs a little over $100. Doesn't mean it is not useful or low quality...or something that people just like to have for their cars for one reason or another Just a thought I had.

Thanks for the feedback!

Well, according to the website, this little piece replaces your factory AC. So, I'll just pay for someone to modify some tall valve covers and keep my AC pumping. Thanks anyway.

Maybe someone should fab up a bracket to turn the alternator around, like how Vortech mounts the vette supercharger on the LT1? Might be worth a few bucks for people to keep the AC and still be able to use tall valve covers.

Just remember to send my royalty check of say 15% for the idea and I'll be happy.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. But I would be concerned about the short distance the belt wraps around the power steering pulley. It looks like a formula for a slipping belt.

I purchased one.. i'm very happy w/ the quality of the product.. He got it to me in a very timely fashion and emails you w/o you having to track him down.. Good customer service.. And if your willing to give up the a/c and want to keep the power steering.. this is the way to go...

To answer previous questions...

It consists of the bracket which is modified from a stock bracket (hence the need for a core charge), a bracket for the top mount of the alternator, as well as the bolt used to connect to the alternator.

Installation is relative to the skills of the person doing the work. Once you get the A/C off, you can figure it taking roughly 1-2 hours for the average person to finish the installation.
