Cool lt1

realistically could my 93z28 with cai,no cat, hooker exhaust, nittos, built tranny and midwest 2800 stall and mad z28 tune beat a new mustang gt? they are 300 horsepower rated, also somebody please explain how they do the 3 valves per cylinder? the new mustang engines have the 3 valve per cylinder engine.what does the 3rd valve do. exhaust, intake and what else. I am puzzled.my goal is to spank one of these, one was bullying my little honda work car the other day.I am putting mid macs on.also maybe a hotcam kit.lmk your thoughts. thanks

A stalled intake/exhaust LT1 on drag radials will take a new stang from a dig, assuming you know how to launch.

The three valves are due to having two intake valves.

Well from what i have read about them, you should have no problem beating one.Mind you they do work pretty good for what they are but the GT still is no match for what you have.

At the local track they generally run 14.5's or 14.2's stock with an auto. Of course most LT-1's at my track are generally that slow too... I don't know what those boys are doing to their cars, but they were mortified by my stock LT-1 putting down 13.5's... lol The LS-1's that rode up there on a trailer were in the low 12's! hahaha, I don't know- bad track prep I am guessing?

Be careful though, with dealer supplied bolt ons, a driver and some sticky tires they can break into the upper 12's. And with headers and mid pipe I bet they would be good for mid 12s. They take to bolt ons and traction VERY well.

With all those mods you should beat one easily.

The new Mustang has 2 intake and one exhaust valve. This helps with intake flow, and is cheaper than a double overhead cam engine.

With your mods, I wouldn't even worry.
