LT1 383 build question
LT1 383 build question
I want the compression ratio somewhere between 10.5-11. Ive found a few combos that would work
54cc combustion chambers (stock 350 head) with a head gasket .080in =11.08 to 1 ratio
62cc combustion chamber heads with .039in head gasket = 11.17 to 1 ratio
64cc combustion chamber heads with .039in head gasket = 10.86 to 1 ratio
Which one do you guys think would be better for a STREET ONLY car, or do you have other thoughts and combinations. I dont plan on driving it everyday but would still want to be able to, this car wont see any track time
Any input helps

.080" is THICK and will result in a super wide quench - NOT good for power. Stock is .049". Most people go with a .028" gasket. Also, for a street motor I would target something along the lines of 11.5:1 compression. Anything less and you're giving up free potential HP. There is no drawback in doing so.
Re: LT1 383 build question
There is .31 c/r difference between the lowest and the highest configuration. Plus, small things like cleanup passes will change that. Whats the difference going to make? Differences in dyno hp? Back to back dyno runs have more error than the hp increase in .31 c/r.
Really. What's he going to use? Race gas?
I dunno, maybe I missed the point he was tring to make/ask.
