LT Headers install on an LT1???

I plan on installing my Jet Hot LT headers this coming weekend. My friends and I have experience installing LT's on LS1's. How much harder is the install on the LT1's? Do i really have to raise the motor a bit? My car is 94 Ta is that helps at all.

To get the passenger side in you have to raise the motor.

How hard is that, and how high does it have to go?

I live on the east side... by King Rd. and Tully Rd. I'd really appreciate all the help I can get, especially from a fellow 25 TA owner... The plan is to start installing the headrs on Friday morning, given that i receive them by then. Let me know if you're interested in helping.

Everytime i've installed them i've had to raise the engine. Not hard though. 2 bolts and nuts and you can raise it. THe hard part is lining the engine up with the mounts right so it doesnt have pressure on the bolts so its easier to slide them out. Other than that its cake. If i were you I wouldnt even try putting them in before jackin the engine up. It will be way easier and shorter in the long run to just jack it up from the start. It only has to come up like 2-3 inches. I jacked mine on up so they would slide in easy. Although one of the sides went in without jacking the engine up on my first ever install. I forget which side it was though.

Is it possible that some LT1 long tubes are different than others? As in, can some be maneuvered easier than others?

It is possible there are variation in the LTs themselves just like how some cars require jacking the motor and some dont. I thought the install was really easy, just time consuming. If you have experience with LS1s, then you shouldnt have a problem with the LT1.

Seriously though, jacking up the motor is not as bad as it sounds. We were able to get the driver's side (hooker longtube) in without any problems. But the passenger side wouldn't go in from top or bottom.
My little brother and I were a little hesitant also at having to "jack up the motor a bit". But it was easy as anything and clear sailing from there. LT installs are just time consuming. Nothing about them is difficult. Good luck

with the jet hots ,which I have, I cannot see any way to get them in without jacking up the passenger side. The drivers side is easy and slips in with the right angle, however the passenger needs to be jacked up. It isnt hard at all dont worry its just a couple bolts and a nut or somthing and then a jack to jack up the motor a couple inches and thats all. Like the guy before said its all easy just time consuming.... also you may have to splice wire for one of the o2 sensors as i remember its the passenger as well...

i also had to jack up mine. easy though, and as long as you have everything you need and you get the car up high enuff the first try, you should complete it in one weekend easy. just take your time and take breaks if you get fusterated.
