Once you include the cost of converting to LS you could NOT have more power with an LS for the investment I have in the LT1.

Hal, you are neglecting the intake to seal to the taller head ports, add $65 for the Edelbrock or at least a few hundred for modding an LT1 intake. Some guys have gotten away with using LT1 intakes on LT4 heads but the sealing margin gets thin enough that GM made the LT4 intake and the only real difference is more material to seal the top of the port.


Of course anyone can tywist things to fit their already determined opinion.

My argument is still that a 70hp gap for the same cash is a substantial difference and one that would be wise to pay attention to.

I sincerely hope the problems are sorted out BUT this is a solid example of folks commenting without a frame of reference.

If someone has never had a quick car before hopping in a 13 second car will feel fast, they will scream from the rooftops how great it is, BUT that is all because they didn't know any better.
