Lt-1 Motor Install??
Pulling The Motor Was Such A Choir!!! Didnt Help That I Had The Intake On The Motor. Im Just Looking For Some Tips For Droping It Back In. I Already Have The Intake On The Motor And Was Thinking Of Bolting On The Mid Lenghts While Its Out Of The Car. Tell Me If This Will Work, Or What I Need To Do Diferent.

You should have dropped it from the bottom. Much easier.
I would remove the K-member and front suspension and put it back in that way. It's a hell of a lot easier. The only thing I used out of the norm was a motorcycle jack.
I placed the bike jack under the k-member, unbolted the suspension... Hooked the engine hoist to the strut brace, lifted the car as high as I could, then wheeled the motor and trans right out from under the car... not hard at all. As far as difficulty... about a 6 on a 1-10 scale. If you took it out from the top... you will have no problem at all putting it back in through the bottom. Took me about 4-5 hours from start to finish. Took a little less to put it back in.

Call and get the proper tool and put in back in from the top instead of taking the whole front end out.

There are only 3 bolts on each side that hold the whole from suspension on. Undo the struts etc..
There is a guide somewhere about removing it from the bottom. Do a search on this site or google and look for LT1 engine removal... you should find something pretty easily.
I had a pretty big engine hoist. I was able to raise it from the front, but you may have to go to the side. It just depends on how the hoist is made. You have to raise it high enough to slide the motor out... you'll see.
The only other special tools that I can think of was the motorcycle jack. I would try to borrow one from somebody. It helped me a lot when putting the motor back in.

Go to tpis.com and buy the happy hooker and it will come out of the top and go in the through the top easily. I removed mine and rebuilt it and reinstalled and this way was much easier than through the bottom imo. I have pics of it going back in too if you need them.

Taking the whole front end out is no big deal. It just sounds like it.
Look... I took my first LT1 out from the top, and I did have the angled bracket. This one, I took out from the bottom. And to me it is way easier from the bottom. You can have the tranny already bolted up, and the motor completely assembled.

Never saw the need to completely take a car apart and jack it up 3-4 feet to get the engine out .
Been done from the top for many years,so thats the way with the proper tool.
Thats what the link is for in my previous post,seems Auto Zone has them.

You guys that are saying to NOT go from the bottom... Have you ever taken out an LT1 from the bottom?
I just don't understand anyone saying that going from the top is easier if they have something else to compare to. It was so much easier for me to go from the bottom.

You can hammer it on. The tolerance is so tight that it will go on straight, no problem. Just be careful to not slip and hit the crankshaft seal. I used a dead-blow and a piece of wood.
