LT-1 Differences PLEASE
LT-1 Differences PLEASE
What are the differences between the 94 Caddy (cast iron headed) LT-1 and aluminum headed ones..?
Just picked up the caddy one and have an extra set of aluminum heads from a 96 z28.
Are the cams the same? Injectors same? anything else?

Re: LT-1 Differences PLEASE
Thanks Guys for the quick help.
I already have a pair of (non-cracked) Z28 heads that I ported that I was going to use since the 'goop' that the prev mechanic used to seal up the intake F/B is leaking and figured, HECK, might-as-well swap them while I've got it torn down..
BUT, is there any differences in the throttle-bodies for the Vetts or F-body cars?
OR any other little parts that can be used to an advantage without paying big $$$ for aftermarket stuff..?
What about the Ex manifolds? Better on the Vett's or F-bodies?
I like the compactness and exit of them since It's going in a 98 BMW 328i Vert..
The drivers side is really tight with the steering linkage.
(don't have the $$$$ for an LS swap like these:

Re: LT-1 Differences PLEASE
The iron heads flowed much better than the aluminum heads- IMHO they were more durable, too, more resistant to damage from overheating. Good stuff- the LT1's used in the B and D-body cars were tuned for torque instead of HP- 260 HP stock, 330 ft/lbs of torque. For moving heavy cars-
Look at some Impala SS sites, to see what those cars were capable of. And could carry 4 or 5 of your friends, and luggage or golf clubs at the same time. Even were beasts for tow capacity- though I think the Caprices beat the Impala, the aluminum wheels on the Impalas weren't rated too well for tow loads.
