Smile Ls6

Will the LS6 engine fit into the engine bay of a '96 Z? Or does anyone know of anyone who has attempted this swap? Last month I saw in a magizine the new ZL1 Camaro, with modified LS6 fitted into a 2002 Camaro. If there is no major difference between the '93-'97's and the '98-02's...the LS6 could also be made to fit into a '96 right? Also, will C5 vette's clutch and flywheel fit in my car? Thanks for your help.

The LS1 will fit in the engine bay without difficulty, but the hood line it too low (I think that's the only problem?)

*EDIT - Remembered I had this link - maybe it will be of some help to you - http://www.hpsalvage.com/st.htm

It doesn't get into hood clearance issues, but the information seems pretty detailed.

Good Luck in you project

Cool, thanx for the link. So does this mean that fitting a LS6 into a '96Z, will have the same hood clearance problem?

This is just what I've heard, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this type of conversion in the flesh, but I know there was a link here about this about six months ago that was running so the clearance issue can't be that big a deal...
