LS1Speed : Reccomends this setup! Yes or No?

I had just called and talked to the owner of LS1Speed, his name is Tom, seems like a great guy and very helpful/knowledgeable. I am going to be putting in headers as soon as I get all the money together for it, he reccomended that I go with this setup.

SLP30045 INSTALL KIT FOR LOUDMOUTH ON 94-95 F- BODY SINGLE CAT $48.99

IZM996-2 O2 SIMMS OBDII GM pair $79.99

MAC49395 MAC OFFROAD PIPE 93-95 $85.99

MAC94957 MAC HEADERS 93-97 LT1 $423.99

He told me the 93-95 Mac headers flow much better than the 96-97. So with this setupe I would be doing a single cat conversion setup.

What do you all think?

Ever look into the OBDI => OBD2 conversion though? May pick up from 5-7 rwhp...

with the offroad pipe I dont think it would matter if at one point it had 1 cat or 2 cuz its all still flowing straight through.

One thing looks weird. Normally, the MAC headers come with the off road Y-pipe. You shouldn't need a seperate one. You are looking to buy the '94-'95 style headers. The '96-'97 style is different, like you said.

By the way, I would buy from www.jet-hot.com They have the Mac headers and y-pipe COATED with the special Jet-Hot coating for $561 total shipped to your door.

That's going to be loud as heck with the loudmouth. Insane really.

You're probably going to need a bullet muffler or two welded in to tame the sound, since you're going without cats.

Other than that, the setup looks great. Don't forget the header bolts.

Dan

Does the S-pipe allow you to keep one cat in the exhaust? Does the cat go between the headers and the S-pipe then?

or does the S-pipe go all the way from the intermediate pipe to the Y-pipe?

Thanks,
Dan

I would think that it would eliminate the cat on the drivers side and the only one left would be the one on the passenger side. Anybody else have this setup or opinions?

Not quite on the subject, but, are you from El Paso Texas, or Illinois? Just wondering since you called Speed Inc. which is in Illinois.
