LS1 style lifter guides for LT1's?
LS1 style lifter guides for LT1's?
In the July issue of Hi Perf Chevy, Performance Q & A, McClelland says that there is Gen I and Gen II lifter guide that's been developed by GMPP (PN 88958652) that works just like the Gen III lifter guide, just loosen the rockers and turn the cam 1 revolution, so you can pull the cam without removing the lifters. Anybody got any experience with these?
Seems like a waste of money, its not that much more work to just remove the rockers after you loosened them, and pull the pushrods lifter guides and lifters, you still have to pull the intake to get the oil pump drive out.
Also, that way of removing a cam isn't fool proof, lifters can still fall back down.
