ls1 parts

im not sure wich section to put this in so i put it here.

anyways i have the chance to get my hands on a smashed up 99 TA. this guys car was stolen and wrecked, so he is gonna wait till the insurance company gets a hold of him and will let me buy it off of him for what his insurance company will sell it back to him for.
so here are my question's
1. is thier a way to get the ls1 to go into my car(95 TA)
2. i am taking it really for the rear lights the front brakes and the middle console. are thier any parts i should also get while i am in thier? like maybee the rear axle, or anything they made better on these cars
3. any other suggestions

sure the ls1 will fit,but you need a new hood, and have to use the new guages/wiring harness/computer.
rear is the same. you will also need the ls1 lower mounts for the kmember.

anythign can be done, how much time do you have? are intrested are you into doing it? i think it would be a cool swap, dont let people say IT CANT BE DONE, because ive seen a few people cram motors where they dont belong, its all about how bad you want it. a if you have a entire donor car to work out of, it should be that bad.

People have done it, but it sounds like quite the job. From what I have read most people say you need a new hood while a few have said you really dont. Also you may want to grab the aluminum drive shaft.

it is a complete allbiet broken car and i have time i just don't want to get into something thats just going to be a pain. like if i decide to get parts for it later. will anything fit up to it, like headers. i have time to decide so its no rush either

well i did a search and it looks like the ls1 swap isn't really worth it. so if anyone has any other ideas on what to grab out of this car let me know

I have the same possible deal as you do.
I plan on getting all the brakes, driveshaft, wheels, and the shocks/springs (mine suck). I am transplanting the engine/trans into a jeep (old CJ-7).
Can I ask how much you are getting it for? and how many miles on the engine?
