Ls1 in LT1 body
I see that you are new to the board.... first of all welcome. This question gets asked a lot, so try the search function that this board offers. I am pretty sure you will find pages of very useful info to answer your exact question. Good luck.
This has been discused before. The LT1 is a Hell of a motor, why switch. All you have to put in is a H/C combo and you will beat ANY LS1 that is stock or mildly modded. Most make about 400-420rwhp with a h/c combol. It would take a lot to get the LS1 there, and cost a lot more. The whole swap would be stupid IMHO. No doubt, the ls1 is a good motor, but ive driven both and everytime i drive mine i get a cargasim, unlike the ls1. The LT1 is way funner to drive around town in than the ls1, IMHO
ls1 k member with motor mounts, ls1 fuel lines, ls1 ecm, tranny (t56 or 4l60e) for ls1, wiring harness, all accesories, air intake, exhaust for ls1. some say there will be hood clearance issues, which can be taken care of with the ram air hood for birds or ultra z hood for camaros. dont know if the rear will have to be switched to make the abs work or not.
I have a LS1 dragger...I have cc306 Stock heads, headers, exhuast and intake...dynoed 353 RWHP and 343 RWT..the LS1 swap would cost way to much...I looked at it and by the time you switched everything you would have 1 BAD *** LT1

A guy in the MTFBA used fuel rails off of a '97 Corvette when putting a LS1 in his '92 RS. They have a return line which would eliminate the need to swap to a returnless fuel setup.
I know one guy who has completed the swap in his '93 Z-28, and another who is in the middle of the swap wit his '94 TA. If you have decent access to parts, can do the work yourself, are in need of a rebuild, want a LS1, and don't mind forking over the change, I don't see why you shouldn't. In a way, I wish it had been something that I thought of when I spun a bearing a year ago.

Well see i bought a 95 Z body and it has no motor or transmition and i was just really wondering what i should do. Go through all of that trouble for a LS1 or just do an LT4 and all I would have to do is re-program the comp right?
