LS1 injectors fit LT1 car?

Does anyone know if 30lbs SVT injectors from an LS1 will fit a LT1 car?

What about stock LS1 injectors?

What are LS1 injectors rated at?

98 ~28.6 lb
99 ~26.4 lb
00 ~26.4 lb
01 ~28.8 lb
02 ~28.8 lb

Don't ask me why GM did that.

even though the LS1 injectors are technically "larger" then lt1's, they won't work as well, in an lt1 application they act smaller. I have no idea why, just what I know, I'm sure someone will comment why though.

LS1 injectors are rated at a higher pressure, they will flow less when installed in an LT1 unless you crank up the pressure again. This is the same reason that the SVO injectors actually flow more than their "Ford" rating when installed on an LT1.

Whenever looking at injectors always correct for the difference, it can be significant sometimes!

it has something to do with fuel pressure differences. the higher your fuel pressure...the more the injectors will flow. so since LS1 cars have higher fuel pressure..they were rated higher.

They run about 60 psi versus our 43.5 psi, are you sure your not thinking of 30# Ford SVO injectors? Those are nice, but you will of course, need to enter in this new value in your PCM to avoid being pig rich.

So what's the best replacement for someone looking to upgrade the LT1 injetors without having to reprogram or change fuel pressure?

There is no upgrade without reprogramming, quite simply put. You would do OK without reprogramming and 24# SVOs, but why bother.

If you need the fuel you need to program, and 24 pound Fords aren't enough of an upgrade to justify it IMO unless yours are dead. Heads/cam car should run 30-36# for a reasonable duty cycle.

I need something that I can swap in and replace my old ones for cheap. It is a lot easier to find used LS1 injectors in good shape than it is LT1's. That's why I am looking at going w/the '98 LS1 injectors, if they perform as stock would.

They will unfortunately not, the fuel pressure difference is your enemy. Get some Ford SVO 24 pounders, or some stock LT1 injectors, they are easily under $100. I've seen stockers for $70 on the board several times.

Are your injectors really going bad? They dont go bad often, and if they aren't then dont touch them. Injectors on my 20 year old car are stock and work fine.

Well, it's one of the last things left for me to check in my problem with the engine.

I'll see what I can find.
