LS1 Crate engine?????

I am pretty new to cars and modifying it so i got this question. My friend told me I could get a brand new LS1 engine. Could I put that LS1 engine in my soon to be 93-97 Camaro Z28?

Yes, but why don't you just rebuild what you got and put a cam in it. That would be alot cheaper than a crate LS1.

Try Comp Cams
As for the rebuild kit, I'm sure someone else will chime it. But doing a rebuild will be cheaper and faster than a LS1

doing small mods you can get ls1 power and leave the stock motor in. plus have alot more $$$ left. doin a search on here you can find some good setup's and alot of peoples dynos on their cars with basic to difficult mods.

to what??? Rebuild kit or short block..???
You will need set of pistons ($150) with rigns and main and rod bearings ($50) to do the rebuild...(all on ebay)...You can reuse your connecting rods and polish uour old crank.

As for the short block try to look on the web/ or sale section on this website. I purchased my new short block off ebay and end up selling it for $1000 about 2 weeks ago...
www.jasperengines.com is selling rebuild LT1 with 3 year/75k miles warranty
Thanks

Those pistons are okay, but they are expensive (forged=much stronger)...If you not going to use N20 or supercharger you don’t need them...
When I was rebuilding my engine I used Speed Pro pistons with 10.4 compression ratio (link

And this set bearings link

ps. Just do a search on rebuild kits and you will have all information that you need
