Low oil sensor.

So my low oil sensor craped out on me and im going to put a new one in next oil change.

Im wondering if I should put anything on the threads like locktite, RVT sealant or plumbers tape. It didnt come with anything either on the threads or in the box.

Re: Low oil sensor.

No need to put anything on the threads. If I remember correctly, there's a brass washer seal already on it.

I believe the one I got has an o-ring of some sort on it. Regardless if you have an o-ring or washer, I don't think putting anything on the threads is necesary.

Re: Low oil sensor.

Just a heads up. Your not gonna be able to replace it w/ out dropping the y pipe. I tried replacing mine on my 96 and you cannot get the sensor out w/ out it hitting the ypipe. Its very long, and goes into the pan deep. Thank you GM! The reason why Im replacing mine is because its leaking like a ****. It sitll works tho.

I didn't have to remove the Y pipe on my car to replace it?

Yea, you are probably correct ..... although the Random Tech pipe has the same routing as the stock one, the driver's side cat is relocated next to the passenger's side cat.
