Low oil pressure when idling

Well, would the noise be instantaneous upon the initial reading of 0psi?

If not, how long would it be before it started tapping?

And seeing how this change was all of a sudden, is it more likely that it is the sending unit, pump, or an actual bearing?

You know, You already have a thread about this. Why hijack this one? Replace your sending unit as suggested in the other thread.

thanks shoebox for the pic . iam not sure but i think i have a early model 94 . was bought in early 94 and think rembering reading the window sticker was made in march. could i tell by my vin # ? how do i find this out ? i lost my oringal papers when i bought it back in 94 ?

i havent checked the sensor yet looks hard to get to if it is on the back of the motor . is it hard to get to if its by my oil filter probally not ?

ok nvm mind i just went out to my car and yes the sending unit is back there i can feel it. i would of never new where it was w/o out that pic . thanks again shoebox. so my car is a late 94 .it was 10 years ago thou

and yes i use castrol 5-30w and a autolator oil filter. i had a gm oil filter on there before i just changed my oil and same readings .


where do i hook up a mech gauge at ?

Mine would do the exact same thing after I changed to 5w30 when previously i had w40 in it. Then the oil pressure really started to drop after adding a can of "engine restorer"(wich is crap by the way),I changed back to castrol 10w40 and now everything is peachy.
