Low Oil Light after replacement of unit.

Hey guys, I replaced my Low Oil sensor with a brand spankin new one from GM and everytime I start my car it has the Low Oil light on. If I wait a little and shut the car off and turn it back on, the light goes away.

Recently my oil pan was in an accident (ran over a rock) and damaged the oil pan, bell housing, tranny, k-member. Everything has been replaced.

Do you guys have any thoughts on what I should check? Thanks in advance.

Dan

Maybe the sensor that goes to the side of the pan? or the sending unit or you just have low oil.

The sensor that goes to the side of the pan is the one I just replaced last week (last one got damaged). Oil is topped of (5qts).
