i was going to make the video clip of the sound for you guys to hear it but sound never came. i drove the car for a good 30 min. and all seemed fine. it was rather weird. (not that i am complaining) all i could hear was the rockers because they are still a tad bit loose. i have no idea what the noise could be. anyone might have a clue?? the engine oil was low and i drained it and filled it up......could that have been it?? also....what is the best way to set the valve lash on the rockers?? engine on or off?? some advice would be greatly appricated. thanks alot.

you did tourque your cam sprockets bolts etc. nothing could have fallen in the pan?

I would take it really easy and run it with a magnet on the bottom of oil pan and filter, also try to get a magnetic drain plug.....let it idle for a few min. then take your oil out and check it...cut the filter open...

Its worth a try if it is a rod, you would rather turn the crank and get brgs. than have a rod hanging out the side of the block...probly tear up the cam and who knows what else

My helper knocked a parts tray over one time and a washer fell in the oil pan..magnetic drain plug got it tho

kind of unrelated to what you did, but is it when your car shifts? if so - check your tranny mount

otherwise, work backwards, double check everything

What kind of modifications are done to the car? Honestly, it sounds like it could be detonation. My car did that just off of idle (quick snap of the throttle) and it sounded like a pop or knock. Do you have custom computer tuning? Knock sensor tuned out? Log of the car?

Also, what about the oil being low? Was it low the whole time and you just changed it and now it doesn't make the noise? If so, that could have been the noise (lifters not fully pumping up).

IF this is an AUtomatic Could very well be a broken FLEX/Flywhell

i dont think anyhting could have fell....but ill defenatly put a magnet to the oil pan. my car is an automatic and yeah, it kinda did the noise when it shifted. but only when i was flooring it. speeking of the transmittion, ever since i got my intake leak fixed it has a hard shift in 1st and sometimes in 2nd. could this be a computer problem because i disconnected the battery?? how could i fix it? i have no mods really. just a flowmaster exaust and a K&N filter. thats is. my oil was low and i didnt know it...my light didnt go off. i should have known because of the intake leak though. when i filled it, the sound went away when i let it idle awhile. the rockers are still rather loud, but its fixable. whats the best way to do that? ohh, and even though the sound is gone......could it still be a rod bearing??? i really hope not. :-( thanks alot guys.

You said it went away after you filled it with oil. My lawn mower knocks a lil bit when low.

Have you come forward with checking the things listed above by these guys? People are prolly a lil relouctant to keep saying the same things if you aren't checking.
