loud knock

i just finished fixing my intake leak and i put on some new rockerarms. i went to test out my work and everything was fine. i went to work and i pushed my car pretty hard. i didnt hear nothing at that time but when i was at a stop sign and i took off i heard a really loud knock. it sounds like it is in the bottom end of my engine. it sounds like like it hits something and shoots off. it only happens when i take off fast though. it sounds as if a piece of metal or something is bouncing around in my engine. the car still runs fine other than that loud noise comming from it. can anyone help me out? you think i most likely spun a bearing or something?? thanks

Get under there and listen to the oil pan, if its coming from there you have spun a rod bearing. Time to pull the engine. Sorry bout ya' luck.

Make sure your rocker arms are clearing your valve covers and not running into the valve cover supports. If they are, crimp 'em down to clearance and go from there.

Also make sure your lash is set properly and that you did not have a rocker arm back off on you.

but i cant hear the noise at idle, i have to be accelerating quickly. i can only hear it when i push the throttle hard to go fast. if i am either going slow or idling, i cant hear it at all. i reved the engine up at idle to see if i could hear the noise....but i couldent hear it. the engine seems to be running fine, there seems to be no performance taken away. if i drive it slow, can i mess it up more?

dude... you're in denial.
you need to find out what is clanking all over the engine before you start it again. think about it.. there is something wrong. you don't have any idea what it is. if you keep driving the car regardless if you hear it or not you are taking a big chance on destroying your engine possibly costing significantly more than what may be wrong now.
no one here can rightly tell you your engine is fine or to go ahead and drive it without you investigating what the problem is!
The first thing I would suggest is taking your valve covers off and seeing what's up w/ those rockers you just installed.

let me get this straight
its only when you either are at a stop and then take off fast or mate the pedal to the floore when going slow???? but not when its moving decently quick already and gun it

and is it only one thud or a constant thud thud thud thud.......

if it just makes the noise once (each time your floor it) i would not be worried to much cause it sounds like its just your tranny mount
just buy a new one for about 15 bux at auto zone and spend 20 mins putting it on and you should be fine

if its a constant noise though then i would be worried

all of them, if i am going slow and take off fast, i can hear it. if i am going....lets say 30mph....and i punch the throttle alittle harder, then i can hear it. either way, if i punch the throttle i can hear it. i just cant hear it at idle....even when i rev it up.

the noise dosent sound like the tranny. it sounds like its comming from the engine.......the bottom end of the engine.

....ohh, and it is not really constent. if i let go of the throttle, the loud clanking noise goes away after a few seconds. but then if i floor it, it comes back.

mabe something in the valvetrain orexhaust leak, slight rod knock, if you have a manual mabe throwout bearing. I have no idea mabe you can post a video or something.
