Lost my clutch and opti at the same time
I was tryin out my line loc for the first time. I get the tires goin in first, then shift to 2nd and the motor bogs down and I hammer it. Revs come back up to around 5800rpm and I release the line loc and start moving forward, get about 30ft and it grabs and I take off.
I go back to check out the marks and they are only like 5ft long!
and my clutch is making strange grinding sounds when I put the pedal all the way in. I stop to turn around and it dies. DTC 36-Hi res opti.
I sure thought the tires were spinning. I'm running a RAM Powergrip with only 3000miles on it. The opti has less than 1000miles on it.
The connector(the "female" pins) that plugs into the opti is all covered in bright blue stuff. The harness was replaced when I installed the opti. Anyone seen this before?

Isn't the rubber seal in the opti connector a bright blue? Sounds like you melted the connector some how. I doubt you damaged the optical sensor inside the opti. Your car should still start and run with a 36 code. If you lost the low res signal, that's different. The fuel pump is shut down, the ICM is shut down and the injectors won't fire. I suspect you lost all the signals from the opti cause of the connector. Should be an easy fix although it isn't easy to reach the connector. May be easier from under the car.
BTW the limited slip differentials do not hold up well to burn outs. Unless you want a new one, I wouldn't do that any more.

Nothing is melted and the blue rubber is perfect. There are bright blue "crystals" all over the pins. With the key in the on position the fuel pump comes on and off with no real pattern to it, totally random. If I unplugged the opti near the intake, the erratic behavior would stop and the fuel pump would just charge up when I first turn the key like normal.
I remember smoking these 315/35/17s BFG DRs with a stock, 80k clutch no problem.

Other than corrosion which is usually green. Maybe there was blue grease similar to but not exactly the same as dielectric grease on it and it crystalized some how??? Dielectric grease won't do that, that's why I say similar. I would still replace the connector and clean the opti plug real well perhaps with contact cleaner.
Ok so you got away with it once or twice it's your call.
