Re: lost lt1

Your best bet will be to put it on a scanner and see what the computer is seeing. You can't just replace stuff on these cars without knowing what the problem is. You will end up poor and in the nut house.

The only thing they will fix is your bank account to $0. Go to a trusted mechanic and describe exactally what is wrong.

Re: lost lt1

Some LT1's are pushing their 13th birthday. With most any car that old you will have to expect to have some repairs and replacements. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the LT1 is "junk". It is just getting old, and with anything old, its not going to be in "like new condition".

Re: lost lt1

Used cars (no matter what the car it is) are an unknown. Unless you had intimate previous knowledge of the car, there is no real way to tell what shape it is in. Common sense, a scanner and some auto expertise will help you choose a decent late model car. A performance car can especially be a crap shoot and sometimes you don't do so well.

Just because you have trouble with your car, does not put them all in the same category. A car is only as good as it's maintenance.
