Loosing oil very very quickly

Got the oil changed 3 days ago and now it is 4 quarts low. I just noticed the puddle on the driveway and a line around most corners where i turned and on the driveway. The plug is tight and the filter is snug. Car never even needs oil between changes. I was stupid and took it to Jiffy Lube but i am not sure what they could have done. Any ideas?

did they replace the fill cap? Although, I wouldn't think you'd lose that much oil from there.

The filler cap is fine. I checked the valve cover and there is no oil on it. The car was probable driven 30 to 40 miles also.

I had this same fing problem!! I took it to ice cold air and 2 days later I was following my oil lines to work. I don't know what they did but I never fixed the problem. I have oil EVERYWHERE.

Refill it with oil and start it up. Look for where it is leaking. That much oil should be real ez to find.

Maybe the old filter seal got stuck not allowing the new one to install correctly. Might check that out first if you have ez access under your car.

If you are leaking that kind of oil in that period of time, it should be pretty noticable. Fill it up, start it up, and inspect the undercarriage, I'm sure you'll find your leak.I would still check the filter, it is the easist starting point, maybe the old filter gasket got stuck on the housing and they failed to remove it before putting on the new filter.

If it's leaking that much oil, it should be fairly easy to find. Assuming they put the plug back in correctly, my best guess would be a filter issue. You should be able to put some paper or cardboard under the car and start it up. That should provide some indication of the location of the leak.

I believe i found it. I took it back and they were able to show me the leak. I think the fact the oil is new and it was a long time since the last change it made something small turn big. They were nice enough to flush the system and put a new filter on and top it off. Since they did not screw it up i was very suprised. They also added 10-40 to thicken it up. Now time to take it apart and replace the seal.

Who knows, they could have screwed up and did all of that to cover their tracks. I'm sure they wouldn't tell you if they were careless enough to make sure the old gasket material was off the filter housing before putting on a new filter.
