Carefully examine the ATI unit. It is a two piece assembly. If only the hub is damaged it shouldn't be necessary to replace the entire assembly. Conversely, if the outer ring is the problem you might salvage the hub. The ring will only fit on the hub one way and the eccentric hole is clearly marked so that when all the bolt holes are aligned, the ring will be be back in the original position. The opti can be swapped by removing the outer ring and sliding the distributor around the hub. If the torx countersunk cap screws that hold the outer ring weren't torqued correctly or if some of them were left out, the ring unit could be loose on the hub.

It goes without saying that having the correct key in the crank is essential.

The damper should not have been balanced on along with the rotating assembly. The balancer is neutral balanced.

What are you talking about. A problem with the engine. Don't you think the ixxxt that took it off to get to the opti did something????????

Incidentally you don't have to take the timing cover off to replace the opti.

More than likely you have a failure with the damper.
