Question Looking for Gasket for Oil Cooler Lines - Oil Leak

Well, I searched the LT1 section for about 1/2 hour now and it appears I am not the only one with this problem. I have an oil leak coming from the oil filter adapter, more specifically from the oil cooler line that goes into the adapter. Most veryone that has had this situation simply removed the oil cooler system all together. To be honest, I don't want to mess with the car that much. I just want to find the gasket that goes between the line and the adapter and stop the oil leak.

Edit: The leak is coming from a faulty gasket between the Oil filter adapter and another metal piece at the end of the oil line going in.

Does anyone have any idea as to the part # of this gasket?

Nick

only coolant would leak from that area, not oil.

I was just going to say those lines have coolent in them not oil, if you have oil in that area its coming from above there. its eather the adapter O ring or the oil pan leaking and running down.

So, coolant runs from those lines through the oil filter adapter? I was under the impression oil runs though those lines and then through a small section in the radiator. Hmmmm

Just could have swore oil was coming directly out of the break in the two pieces. I may have to take a closer look at it.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, found the issue. The chart referenced by Shoebox does not show the gasket. The Oil cooler housing inbetween the standard oil filter adapter/block and the oil filter has a piece to the side that bolts onto it in which the lines go in. The gasket that I am looking for is a rectangular one with 2 holes in it. That is why I was leaking oil, not coolant.

You might check and see if Victor-Reinz part #GS33272 might work.... Most parts stores have it or can cross the number....

Ok, got the oil cooler out and you can see where the piece splits into two. I tried silicone, but no dice.
