Looking to buy an Lt1 Z 6 speed
they have hyperutectic pistons, not cast. my car doesnt have the infamous oil leak, the opti did go out at 70K and at about the same time i put a ds window motor in it. they are good cars. as far as gears, dont waste your $$$. all it will do is grenade behind a T56. the surest way to **** up a trans is to let the clutch start going and you keep beating on the trans. otherwise, you wont have a bit of problem. i love my little hardtop, there are some local LS1 owners around here who arent to fond of it however.

I would look for a 94 or 95 unless you want an SS. 94-95s have OBD1 which is easier to work with than the OBD2 on 96-97s. Oh, and 95 > than 94 because of vented opti.
Also throw a set of 4.10s in there right away. I bought my car with them, and I it had factory gears (3.42s) until I calculated it because im still under 2k rpm on the highway.
