I finally got pics of the intake I made last year.

This was made with:

3" mandrel-bent pipe from JCWhitney = $20
K&N Filter RE-0910 from Summit = $35
3" Rubber PVC pipe coupler from HomeDepot = $8
Black spray paint = $2

Total = $65

That looks sweet!! And on top of that, the $65 pricetag doesn't hurt.

Take it to the track yet? How's it sound?

Thanks a lot guys.

I did a 3" because it was the biggest I could do and have it fit in there without having to flatten the pipe. 4" is kinda not necessary because the MAF is 3.5" and my exhaust is 3", so I don't think it would benifit from a bigger intake. I would have done a 3.5" but there isn't much of a selection of filters that size. I think as long as the filter is big, the 3" is all you need with the stock MAF and TB.

Ya, I went to the track once, I finished the 1/8th at 83mph with a 2.6 60' because of my generic tires...

Homemade kit with air pump?

I still have my airpump but really would like to give your design a try. Are there any steps I can take to overcome problems of using the homemade CAI and not having Hooker longtubes, or are getting some the only way?
Thanks in advance.

You can buy a small filter to go on the end of the air pump hoes....

i've been thinking about designing one up with fiberglass, making it tapered with a typer of ram air setup to pressurize the air some, but it's all in my head at the moment, maybe i can post some pics this summer.
