Longtubes?

Hey guys my z28 is pretty low and am worried that after i spend the money on getting longtubes they will scrape. Right know i have shortys and my exhaust sometimes scrapes right after the muffler where it drops back down. Really want to run longtubes and y-pipe but really scared ill tear my whole exhaust off.

You said your car is "pretty low", but you didn't mention anything in your signature about it. Did you lower the car with aftermarket springs?

im running bmr drop springs with pacesetter long tubes and their y pipe as well i actually have less scrapping issues with this car than with my 94 6speed that had a stock springs that i used to have

i would say make sure you shocks and struts are good and you should be fine

Some long tube headers "hang" lower than others as each manufacturer has their own design. You might want to search a little here as I can't recall which ones tuck up to the floorboard the nicest.

Kooks are the best for ground clearence, pacesetters would be second. So if you can afford them go for it.

I have scraped (and dented) my hooker LT's a couple of times and my car is stock ride height. I will not lower my car just for this reason.

I have pacesetter longtubes and off road y-pipe, and my car is lowered 2" (eibach sportlines)

I have never scraped my headers on anything, and the roads here in KS are not very good (lots of steep inclines). I have scraped the y-pipe a couple of times, but not even enough to dent it, it just got scratched up a little bit. Click on the pic in my sig, you can see how low my car is

Why risk it---just get the car back up where it is supposed to be. It makes little sense to spend money on Lts, have them installed and then reallize that you can't drive it to the suspension shop without ruining your new headers. JMHO

I have Pacesetter LT's on my vert with Eibach Pro-kit springs, and very rarely do I scrape my y-pipe. With being lower you definitely will need to become more careful. But unless you have terrible road with tons of potholes you won't have any problems.
