Longtubes
Re: Longtubes
From what I have read (no first hand experiance on an LT1 or Fbody). The procedure is tedious. Patience is key. A lift is a plus. Jackstands blocks etc to SAFELY get the car well off the ground and keep it there are needed. I am now beginning to stock up on parts myself for the install. Plugs, OVC wires, motormounts etc. I get the impression that it is not easy, but like anything else is step by step. Plan ahead. I have decided for safety and time I will be lifting my car with a friends lift.
...Good luck which-ever route you decide to go.

Re: Longtubes
It could take 4 hours or 4 days. It depends on the brand of headers, your knowledge and if something goes wrong.
Heres two links from a search I did:

Re: Longtubes
Im in the process of doing long tubes on my car right now. Just do a lot of research on this site. Make sure you get all the little things...02 extenders, good copper gaskets, locking header bolts, poly motor mounts, etc. Im working on my car whenever I have a few spare minutes..she just sit out in the garage up on jackstands till im done...
