Very true. But when the DMV Sends you a letter telling you you have to go to a smog inspector. Thats when there's no where to hide.

Anyways, AS&M are very good headers. As good as any longtube unless your making crazy power.

I debated and researched this for about half a year...

...the Hooker LT's are going in soon.

But if you have emissions, go with AS&M/Rk Sport or SLP.

Are you referring to a smog referree or a test only?

I have no complaints about mine. It's not that the AS&M is that good, it's that Hooker is overrated

Nope. You're screwed by going to a referree, but a test only are still reasonably 'friendly'

When in doubt, move to FL! We were running a T-bird with a 390 with both open headers and no headers only to get compliments from the pigs.

Teasing is not considered very nice. Actually, my Chevelle gets the thumbs-up from the local LEO's too, but I do run mufflers on the street (as ineffective as they are for controlling sound at WOT).

It would be cool if the tree-huggers backed off a little

The ceramic coating usually comes off within a year or two if your lucky. Not worth the extra 200 bucks IMO.
Mine has been on for over a year the coating is like new
