LONGTUBE header 1/4 Gains??

Just wondering what I should expect from Longtube 1/4 mile gains. Im hoping for some good news. My buddy says .1 - .2 only for most cars. What do you guys think? Or what do you guys KNOW?

My car picked up about .2 and about 1/2 MPH with Hooker LT's AND a CSI electric WP installed at the same time. I actually got a bigger kick from CAI. LT 's aren't a good choice for mostly stock motors. If you plan alot of mods in the future then they are a good choice.

Well, I don't have LTs, but I do have 1 3/4" mid lengths and I lowered my 1/4 by .2-.3. And gained about 3-4mph.

I've only tested my headers at an 1/8th mile track. I dropped my ET .25-.30 sec and gained 2.5-3.0 MPH.

Wow, this is really making me thing about doing something else. Currently I just cut my stock piping after it came over the axel, thus running with no muffler. What do ya think I would gain in the quarter with long tubes and true duals???

Any new additions to this? I was going to make a thread but found this doing a handy search. Lets hear some new gains with LT's preferably Hooker/JetHot.

Just had my LT's put on. I dont have slips for it yet. But let me tell you I can feel the difference in power, car has really really benifited. The stock manifolds are crap. I was amazed to see how restrictive they were.

Here are some pics of the stock crap, compared next to the I pipe. The exit on the manilfolds is like 2"!!!!!!!!

Look at the exhaust ports, and then look at the exit. Talk about restrictive.

Ahhh much better..... You can actually see all the PLUGS!!!!

Think about it like this... longtubes are kind of a "do this first" type of mod. If you want lots of power, your going to have to eventually swap in a cam and ported heads. But, in order to get the most out of these, you need a set of headers, and those mods LOOOOVE longtubes.

I gained 4mph in the 1/4 and i don't even have an LT4KM yet. I am getting one soon, because I think I am getting some knock retard. Hopefully I can go just a little quicker.

Before you potentially waste money on a LT4KM, I'd recommend checking with a scan tool to see if you actually have knock retard. I'm not sure what a LT4KM can be had for these days ($50?) but I'd put that money towards a scan tool and THEN if you need a LT4KM get one. But, IMO, it is rather pointless to just buy one if you don't actually need it
