Lobe Seperation ??
Lobe Seperation ??
383 is being built as we speak. Forged everything, ported heads, etc.. Question is - I bought a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam, it's a 236/242. I haven't looked for sure yet, but I think it's has a 110 lobe seperation. I am just wondering how this will effect me. Will this not work with my setup?? Camshaft details are the only thing about a motor that I really don't understand. So all your help is appreciated. Details are 383, forged parts, ported heads with dual valvesprings, 1.6 rockers, etc.., you get the picture. Just unsure about the cam. Also, are titanium retainers a must with this cam?? Thanks in advance for the help.

Your manifold vacuum may be uncomfortably low for power brakes. You might want to consider a seperate vacuum canister. You'd benefit alot, considering at stock idle rpms, you'll stall out. Have your idle raised to 1000rpm with that kind of bumpstick.
Thanks for the replies. So the only thing I might lose is some vacuum?? If I went with the same cam but with a 112 lobe seperation would I still have this problem. Just trying to figure out if I need to switch to the 112 or not. Also, do I need titanium retainers with this cam??
thanks
thanks
