LME head porting work on my AFR-210s

My other post had it's pic limit of 10 I guess, but some of you were asking about the heads, so here's the MAXPORTING work Brian & Pecos @LME did for me. Out of the box AFR-210s flowing 272 @.700 intake according to AFRs website. LME did the port work, I'll have the engine blueprinting Monday along with the baseline #'s before/after their porting. LME got a solid 30-cfm across the entire band, intake now flows 315 @ .700 intake which I'm happy about because AFR-227s are 309 @.700. They also swapped out the AFR valves for Ferrera Comp Race valves, opened up the seats for some monster Manley Nextek springs for the solid roller, titanium keepers, 5-angle race valve job, decked, etc, etc. They also cleaned up the porting I did on my LT4 intake, opened up the runners, injector angles & port matched to the new heads runner sizing.

Re: LME head porting work on my AFR-210s

Look at the pictures of the head surfaces where AFR has the seats blending into the head surface - you can see where the fly cutter chatters across the seat a little bit because it was just cutting aluminum, then all of a sudden it hits harder metal. One good trick there is to have them grind down that part of the seat just slightly below the surface of the aluminum before surfacing so you get a smooth cut across the entire head. Or you could use a grinder to surface it instead and get it nice and smooth. Probably doesn't matter much, but just one of the little details that came up during my build. Absolutely an outstanding setup BTW.

Bernie,

You ever get your 210s flowed? Were your heads the Race Ready's or Competitions?

Thanks for the tip, lost me a little but think I understand, note taken. Thanks for the props everyone, I don't get on the net unless I'm at work, gave my laptop to my son for college recently so hard to reply. I'll post the flow #s, don't remember @.600 what it flows, should have the paperwork today though, these 210s were just the Comp not Race Ready, didn't have enough $$ at the time, the Race Ready would not have been worth the extra $$ anyway from what I've learned since then, but who knows. Anyway I'll post the info if I get it later today.
