I used to have that setup. It was pretty loud though but it sounded good. It was raspy for the first mile of driving until everything warmed up but then eventually the rasp went away completely. I had FLP's, high flow cats and the SLP LM. It was kind of unrefined at idle but sounded great at WOT. I have heard a car with shorties, no cats and the LM and it sounded like crap. Very raspy. Cats make a big difference IMHO. I had a horrible drone around 2000rpm's that would make my ears bleed on long drives.

I got rid of my LM when I did my heads and cam in fear of it being too loud. I now have the SLP TOTL with no cats and to be honest with you, the LM with cats was alot louder. The SLP TOTL sounds great BTW.

So have you heard this setup in person or do you know someone who has the setup? Is there any way you could get a soundclip of it?

Whatever you decide to do, take the stupid cats off...it sounds so much better with them off.

The stock cats flow very well, the aftermarket ones may not flow as well, depending on which you choose. I myself hated not having cats, so I put on some soundcats which are one of the best freeflowing and they were 50 bucks off ebay-great buy! They have much less packing then stock and weigh about 5 pounds, compare that to the stock cats weight of 10-14 pounds. I must honestly say I didn't notice to much difference in sound with them. Mine is obviously a different setup, but your will be plenty loud and will be more legal. If anything the cats should help take away some of the drone at faster speeds, which gets pretty annoying quickly when you want to hear the stereo

OK after researching this I am thinking about taking the cat off and putting in its place a dynomax bullit muffler. They run about $35. Does anyone think this will be as raspy as strickly having no cats , LM and LT?

How much more hp would u expect to gain going from your stock cat to a dynomax muffler?

Probably 5 hp or so on a mostly stock car, the stock cat isn't that big of a restriction.

I just checked out my cars emissions papers and it passed with flying colors...but if i take that cat off is there no way it would pass? And also how much rwhp gain do most people experience from a loud mouth..this is a burning question...i dont know the answer to lol

You pick up about 10 hp with only the loudmouth.
