little help on a T56 install

I am putting a 93-97 T56 behind a 88 IROC motor in a 68 camaro and was wondering if you guys could answer some questions.

1. I know I can use the LT1 flywheel because the Iroc motor is a 1 piece rear main, but I heard that I can't resurface the flywheel from a LT1- I don't remember why exactly. Is this true?

2. Also I read something about drilling the inside of the hydraulic line out to get better performance- what are the benefits and costs to doing this?

And anything else you could clue me in on about the install would be great- I've researched and found some articles but I feel like there is probably a lot I don't know

Thanks guys
Jacob

Re: little help on a T56 install

There is no problem with resurfacing the LT1 flywheel, I resurfaced mine along with many other people here without a problem. I've heard about the other mod, its not drilling the line I think it has to do with drilling out the clutch master cylinder, it makes for a quicker clutch release. Its pretty much a free mod, you may find info on it in a search. I know a lot of people put LT1/T56 combos in 1st gens so I would think an TPI/L98 engine with a T56 could work but not sure. Maybe check the 1st gen section for more details on the swap.
