Can't help you. I have a similar problem. Tapping from the driver's side. Louder when the car is warm. Most noticable at idle. I'm beginning to suspect lifters.

Off topic and out of curiosity, did you notice an increase in valvetrain noise after the installation of your MAC headers?

i installed my headers and roller rockers at the same time so i can't really answer your question if it was louder or not just cause of the macs. sorry.

ok i was thinking lifter two cause almost everything else was replaced. so if it is a lifter is that serious or not? as in no more drag racing or what? i will replace it but i was going to do that next winter.

Been driving with the tapping for two years now. It's more pronouced with the addition of the headers. If it is the lifter, then nothing has broken yet. However, I've been fighting a timing retard problem I would associate with the computer pulling timing as a result of the knock sensor picking the ticking up. As a result, my track times have dropped about a half second.

an lt4 knock module just may solve your performance problems.

As for the valvetrain noise, I have quite a loud ticking from under the hood. I have 1.6 roller rockers and MAC headers - and I've heard some ticking from the mac headers are normal. They shouldn't be loud, but audible if you listen for it.. its probably because the header walls are so much thinner and transmit noise.

I've readjusted my roller rockers about 5 or 6 times now, and tightened all my header bolts and collectors many, many times. I've come to the conclusion that this is all normal.. just make sure you get the lt4k so you don't lose any power.
