Re: A little EGR question

If you want to do the bare minimum, just block off where the EGR valve was. Make sure you have capped the vacuum supply. In fact an EGR valve that is not leaking and has no vacuum feed is as good as a block-off plate.

Re: A little EGR question

^Agreed. I left my valve on there, took off the vacuum lines, and plugged up the vacuum outlet on the intake manifold. Year and a half and no problems.

Re: A little EGR question

what would be causeing my car to get horrible gas mileage and to end up fouling my plugs?
i replaced
fpr, pcm, opti, coil, o2s, pluged the egr, fuel pump, spark plugs, maf... not all these were replaced for this problem but i did them because the needed to be changed.
now a while back i did bend a pushrod some how cruising in 6th gear going 80 mph. the rod came out just fine, it just was bent, and we threw a new one in and she runs fine..... now could that have scraped my cam up bad or done somehting to a vaulve? thats the only thing i can think it is besides fuel injectors and i have done the fuel injector test like 10 times and it is all good so i know my FI arent leaking and all the readings were good. we a-taped my car and all but we werent able to come to any conclusions what it was.
like if everything internally is good the only thing i can see that would be the problem would be the injectors or a leak... which we cant find a single leak off the headers and everything else (all the hoses) i have taken off and checked... just throw out some ideas if you want, i am just trying to think what it could be so when i get home in 14 months i can fix it (still in honduras). i dont mind changing the cam and all but i really do not want to deal with vaulves. that just doesnt seem fun to me. and i am tired of changing my spark pligs because the get all jacked up!
thanks for all the help guys and your replies.
now my maf is from a 1994 obd1 car, but that shouldnt make a difference now should it?
