Link Bar Morels

Is there anything special (machining, etc) that needs to be done to an LT1 motor to swap over to link bar Morel lifters HR from OEM? Or do they pretty much just drop in?

Yep they drop in. You need to pull the heads to do that though.

Re: Link Bar Morels

All I can say is this, I was able to slip my Morels after the heads where on, but maybe its due to the meterial taken out of the head. By the way it was VERY tough.

This question was just asked the other day. I was able to install mine with the heads tq'd down. Not easly or quick...takes a lot of time trying different angles.

I usually have to loosen up the head to put them in and take them out. Thank god for Cometics!

It just took a little "lifter acrobatics"

while I'm doing a search, I saw your post and really really want to know why.

My Morels aren't linked bars, but isn't enough to pull only the intake? Or did I something wrong?

Re: Link Bar Morels

No it's just easier to install them when the heads aren't on the block. There are Morels that are not link bar versions, they work great in LS1 cars. The link bar versions I just like better since they add some security over the stock lifter retention setup.

I still couldn't make a relation between heads and lifters. Aren't they just bolt on? After reading this I'm not sure if I replaced them correctly. Angles?

I'm pretty sure link bar lifters have a taller body than the dog bone style.

Yes it is taller for sure, but what about angles?

I mean I installed my lifters without removing the heads and it was so easy. Did I something wrong?

Re: Link Bar Morels

You purchased the non-link bar style, so they drop in very easily. The link bar style take a little finess with the heads on.
