Lingenfelter 383/Superram
Lingenfelter 383/Superram
I just bought his book a couple days ago, and have read it cover to cover, and am rereading it. I saw in the back that their 383 LT1 with 425hp/470tq is emissions legal through the stock exhaust manifolds! I love the torque it makes, but it is with the Superram, and I am planning out a 383. I don't want to shell out the 15k plus to get his exclusive package, but to mimic it. I want a 383 for reliability, with over 400hp/tq, and I don't want the power to be peaking at 5500rpms, and I don't ever plan on using power adders. I have thought about an Eagle cast crank, eagle SiR rods, summit hypereutectic rebuild kit (would be 5.7in rods with press fittings), LE heads, the lingenfelter 219/219 cam, 1.6 RR's, SLP shortys with random tech catted y-pipe. The torque that the superram makes over the LT1 manifold makes it seem worth the pricetag, but is it really? It lowers peak power and boosts torque. Would this be reliable, and not subject to tear down for a rebuild in the near future?
