Linear rate springs.
Linear rate springs.
Does anyone have any experience running stiff, linear-rate springs? Picked up another Z after my last one. Car is a '95 m6 completely stock, and I'm looking to make it a handle respectably.
I want to start with springs/shocks, but am only able to find progressive rate springs. I saw an offering from Suspension Techniques that was linear rate, but only for the front. Maybe I'm off on my thought process, but I want a stiff ride that's always tight.
Is progressive not as bad as I'm thinking? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Progessive isn't bad but linear makes it easier to setup the shocks.
Anways the Eibach Pro kit for LS1 cars uses a linear front spring (400lb/in) but the rear is still progressive (80-113lb/in).

I have a set of rare, and now discontinued ST springs with straight rate fronts. 600# fronts and 140-160# rears, they are a tad low, but they work great with the Koni doubles.
I've seen only one other set on eBay once, they are blue, but you are more likely to find thier 430# fronts and dont know the rears on that setup.
There is always coil overs, I'll get some eventually.
