Lights in steering wheel not working: any ideas?

My lights for the radio controls on my '95 T/A don't work so I replaced the whole assembly however, the lights still don't work. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or any ideas why the lights in the steering wheel only would stop working?

Thanks in advance!

that sucks i'm not sure about the wiring...you can try using one of those ciruit testers to see if any power is coming in through one of the wires on the harness. You can actually change out just the bulb which costs alot less then buying the whole assembly. If you ever need to know how just let me know.

Thanks for the info. All the controls on the steering wheel still work ok, but just don't light up. I thought it may have been the bulbs, but for both to go out seemed strange. I just went to a junkyard and got a couple off another car and put them in (they just gave them to me) but the lights still don't work.

mine don't light up nor do the buttons work since I owned the car. I got an aftermarket deck now anyways so the buttons won't work it.

I had a Monte Carlo with those controls and the damn lights were notorious about going out. I replaced a couple of $16 bulbs and finally decided the pain was not worth it and gave up.

The little bulbs inside those things (at least on my car) are super sensitive. I'd say that the bulbs are blown...

The bulbs cost like $1.50 from radio shack, and if you're good with a soldering iron can be replaced in a few minutes. I believe they are a 7219...

You can also get them HERE: http://www.mouser.com//index.cfm?Han...er&supplierid=

If you got the modules out of a wrecked car, the filaments might be broken in them. You could take the module apart, pull the little red cover (kinda like a condom) off it and look really closely at it to see if it's broke...
