Re: Lifters for CC306

I'd just go with New OEM's or keep your stockers. I had comp R's and 9 of them ended up having missing or cracked retaining clips. I'm not the only one here either there has been many people having this problem. Bret Bauer told me i could run OEM lifters with my cam and it has a lot more lift.

what is your springs?? You should change your lifters according to your springs, but yes lots of people have trouble with R lifters.. You should go with OEM I think your springs aren't big for your cc306 cam..

Not sure on the springs. The head builder is installing them. CNC heads in Florida is doing the work on the heads.

Re: Lifters for CC306

Why compcams do not try to fix these new style R lifters.. They are really garbage..! People who have not a trouble with these lifters, use the old style R lifters, not new style!!!
If you got much spring pressure, get a set of MOREL lifters!!! Top notch quality lifters! (Also you will not need rev-kit)

Man...Im in the process of building a (built) nitrous 383...what lifters do yall recommend running? I was going to run the Comp R's but now seeing this I dunno anymore. Are there any difference in using OEM and Comp R's?

My engine assembly is almost ready and unfortunately my engine builder used comp R lifters (it was my choice) .. Anyway if I got a problem (I think I will) I will change my springs and will get a set of beehives (26918) and comp OEM lifters (850-16) with an hydra rev kit..

My current springs have 160lbs close seat for that reason I couldn't use OEM lifters.. But beehive springs have 130lbs and have less weight,so OEM lifters will be the choice with beehive..

No R lifters, no trouble..
