Lifters?

So what lifters are everyone using? I was looking at the stock ones from gm parts direct, but if the prices are the same then I will probably call Combination. My cam is the 227/233.

Re: Lifters?

Im using Comp R's with the same cam. Im using Crane springs that have a very high seat pressure and was afraid that the stock lifters wouldnt cut it. If you have the funds, Comp R's are just one less thing to worry about but it not, stock replacements should work fine.

Re: Lifters?

Yeah I was thinking about going with the Sealed Power/ Speed Pro lifters. They are quite a bit less than the others but I'm not sure yet.

Re: Lifters?

I would run Comp R's. The 227/233 has lots of lift and with XE ramps you need some good lifters.

Re: Lifters?

So stock style lifters wouldn't work well with my cam?

Re: Lifters?

Ask somebody in the know. I believe it has to do with ramp speed and spring pressure.

Re: Lifters?

if youll be running your RPM's above ~6k, id go with the Comp R's. if youre keeping your stock heads then you may be all right going with stock replacement lifters, since yo uwouldnt run RPM's above ~5900.
