lifter install

okay so i got this motor off of a friend broke down..and im starting to put it back togeather an its full roller but the more im reading im seeing you have to get the roller lifter install kit is this true... i mean you cant just put the roller lifters in an then the push rods and rockers and so on is there something im missing?

If the lifters have "tie-bars" then just put them in the holes. If your engine is an LT1 then you will need the "dogbones" and "spyder" to keep them from spinning in the holes.Take somepictures of what you have and post them.

i dont have a camara but im not sure if there stock rollers in the lt1 i got it dissasembled buit its got brackets that go on the lifters then like a retainer that goes on too? sorry about the confuson any help would be great thanks.

put the lifters in with the lil oil hole either facing the front or the back on both sides then there should b eight lil figure 8 looking things you put on top of those to hold them in. then there is a sheet of metal that has 8 legs that hold the figure 8's down and 3 little bolts hold the sheet metal on.

I've run in to many ppl that dont understand the Mechanical terms so I try and put it as simple as I can so that ppl can understand. Sorry if I didnt make it too understandable.

I understand. I'm used to everyone telling me to put it in terms that they can understand. Next time i'll be more technical.
